FAQs - General Site Info
The Web site sometimes seems slow. Why?
There are several reasons why Web pages may occasionally load slowly. You may notice that during certain times of the day it takes longer for a page to load. This is often because there is a high level of traffic to the site or to the Internet in general. The speed of a computer's processor and modem are also major factors in how quickly a Web page loads. Newer modems and computers are often able to load Web pages more quickly than older ones.
How can I set up my browser to take full advantage of the Web site?
Why am I having problems printing from the Web site?
In several instances, the Web site makes use of frames technology. Using frames makes it possible to view several Web pages within one Web browser window. On a Web page that makes use of frames, selecting "print" will print only one of the frames seen on the screen. Therefore, before printing be sure to select the correct frame on the screen by clicking somewhere within the area that contains the information you would like to print.
Why do the daily prices on the Web site appear to be out of date?
When a Web page loads, the information appearing on the screen can load from one of two general locations: from a server over the Internet or from an area of previously stored data on a computer's hard-drive, called the cache. If the page loads from the cache, the information provided will only be as current as what was available the last time the information was accessed via the Internet.
If the Web page loads with information that is not current, first click the "Reload" or "Refresh" button located at the top of the browser. This should update your screen with the most recent information from the Internet. If this does not update the information, it may be necessary to clear the cache and force the Web browser to retrieve the information directly from the Internet. Clearing the cache removes old files or Web pages that are stored in memory so that the browser must obtain the most recent information from the Internet. For help with clearing a Web browser's cache, check the Help Menu located within your Web browser.
