Why I Love My Job

I get to help others understand their financial lives better and help my clients reach their goals; I love seeing clients accomplish what they have set their minds to. I also love working here because the firm cares about us not just as employees, but as people. I feel supported in reaching for my own personal goals both professionally and personally. HH really feels like an extension of my family.

Samantha J. Garcia Family

As a Senior Wealth Advisor, a critical focus of Samantha’s role is creating trust relationships with her clients. She strives to understand their entire financial picture to help them reach optimal decisions—especially regarding financial matters. “Each client is unique,” she says. “It’s important to listen carefully to truly understand what matters to them. A great deal of knowledge goes into recommendations, yet these must be tailored to their specific situation.”

Samantha joined Halbert Hargrove’s Long Beach office in 2018. Working with clients is her favorite part of her calling. “I really enjoy helping them to successfully meet their current and long-term goals, financially and otherwise.”

Samantha has worked in financial services since 2010. Most recently, she was a financial advisor with Asset Planning, Inc., in Cypress, CA for four years. Prior to that time, she was an accountant at a private firm in Commerce, CA, while also working for a CPA firm during tax season. “My accounting background helps me bring a different perspective to my conversations with my HH clients,” she says. She began her post-college career as Assistant Director of Children’s Ministry for Emmanuel Reformed Church in Paramount, CA.

A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Samantha earned her Financial Planning Certificate from Bryant University in 2016. Other educational attainments include an MBA in Finance from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2012, and a B.A. in Christian Ministries from Azusa Pacific University in 2008.

She is a member of Financial Planning Association of Orange County, Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce and serves as an Advisor on the Board of The Women in Leadership Executive Education Program at Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises.

She says she’s particularly proud of being the first and only member of her family to graduate from college, for completing her CFP® certification while a new mom and working full time—and for being a mom, period. Favorite ways to unwind include family time with her husband Joseph and their young son, reading, and doing puzzles.
