About the Associate Wealth Advisor

The Associate Wealth Advisor partners with Regional Directors, Wealth Advisors and Client Service Managers in the day-to-day requirements of client accounts, ensuring that their portfolio management is continuously implemented and adheres to their financial roadmap. The Associate Wealth Advisor’s overriding objective is protecting client’s wealth, helping them secure their financial goals, and hearing from them that they are comfortable and pleased with the entire process.

The selected candidate for this position must have their CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation.

Work Location
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation for this position is $75,000 – $86,000. Benefits include:

Responsibilities

Client Service

  • Provides “Wow Service” to result in direct referrals.
  • Exudes confidence to Clients/Prospects/Centers of Influence (COIs).
  • Prepares for and conducts client meetings with clear, precise deliverables – via web meetings or in-person.
  • Takes initiative with client needs and manages all expectations/concerns/issues with support from the team.
  • Prepares all financial planning deliverables by focusing on the minute details.
  • Initiates and completes all wealth advisory items with support from the team.
  • Work with MoneyGuidePro, Tamarac Advisor View and Tamarac CRM (Microsoft Dynamics CRM).
  • Present 401(k) plan participant group education sessions.

Business Development

  • Builds and maintains a networking group/niche.
  • Develops and keeps an ongoing relationship with new and relevant COIs.
  • Maintains a social presence in the community by volunteering and/or joining a charitable organization.
  • Articulates Halbert Hargrove’s value proposition for Investment Management and Wealth Advisory Services.

Team Management

  • Keeps team on track with firm’s strategic initiatives.
  • Creates clear guidelines to team of all timelines and workload.
  • Follows all firm processes and procedures while servicing current clients and prospecting future clients.

Qualifications

  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation required.
  • At least 1 year of experience as an Associate Wealth Advisor, Client Services Manager or related position.
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills, integrity and the ability to keep information confidential.

Administrative/Finance Intern

Currently Seeking Spring 2025 (or later) Graduates!

Halbert Hargrove is a registered investment advisor (RIA) based in Downtown Long Beach. Halbert Hargrove provides a proven, goals-directed planning process for wealthy families and individuals. Our wealth advisory and fiduciary investment services help our clients preserve and grow their wealth through access to preferred investment vehicles, extensive market experience, and proven strategies that we’ve continually refined since our founding in 1933.

Location: Remote/Long Beach, California

Pay: $20/hour

Time: 2-3 days per week – Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday/Friday (8-5 or 7-4)

Length of Internship: 1 year + preferred

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate with team of interns to ensure all projects are completed on time
  • Wealth Advisory document creation and review
  • Utilize excel and CRM to update and maintain system data
  • Accurately prepare materials for client meetings
  • Review and synthesize notes from prospect calls
  • Generate proposals for prospects
  • Research and determine eligibility of incoming asset transfers
  • Reference and update intern procedures for clarity while completing assigned tasks
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships and strong communication with colleagues on projects
  • Manage workload to maximize accuracy and efficiency, freeing up time to assist in non-routine tasks as needed
  • Research and learn how to navigate video editing software and excel to help complete marketing and operations projects

Position Qualifications:

  • Any class year welcome (Freshman/Sophomore/Junior preferred)
  • Finance/Economic majors preferred
    • Applicable coursework: FIN 300, 310, 350, or 360 strongly encouraged
    • Applicable coursework: Information Systems strongly encouraged
  • Self-starter that takes initiative and ownership of work
  • Professionalism, personal accountability, responsiveness, and resourcefulness
  • Demonstrates excellent teamwork skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully manage and complete multiple responsibilities
  • Willingness to learn and utilize new technical skills to assist operations team
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
