Why I Love My Job

The culture of our firm is like no other. My coworkers are not just coworkers—they are my second family and I care deeply about them all.

Rachel M. Cochran Family

If you’re calling into our Long Beach headquarters, it’s likely you’ll hear Rachel’s distinctive voice greeting you. That’s been a part of her responsibilities since joining us back in 2001. Over the years, she’s come to know many of our clients and has a knack for recognizing your distinctive voices—so don’t be surprised if she greets you by name. “I enjoy the exchanges that I have with clients when they call or come in—and in general, just helping others,” she says.

Rachel’s role with Halbert Hargrove is truly unique and has evolved with us over time since her original title of “Director of First Impressions.” She pitches in on the operations side, helps with paperwork on new accounts, and helps keep our office administration in super shape. As a Notary Public, she assists HH clients with documents that require a Notary.

Prior to HH, Rachel worked as an office assistant at a medical lab and a computer firm. She was awarded the ACCREDITED INVESTMENT FIDUCIARY™ designation by the University of Pittsburgh-affiliated Center for Fiduciary Studies in 2009.

Rachel lives with her partner and their two dogs. She grew up riding horses and loves to ride whenever she can. In fact, her love of animals is pretty much all embracing—she’s been an avid vegetarian for 25+ years. For fun, she especially enjoys climbing at the gym and spending time with friends.

Fun Fact

I learned how to ride a horse before I could walk. They have always been my passion. When I retire I would love to own another—or five.
